"Every job I take on, I treat it like it's my own home."

How Loxley Locksmith & Security Was Born

We started Loxley Locksmith & Security in 2007, and we can tell you exactly what pushed us over the edge. Sam Rourke had spent years watching good people get treated badly at their own front doors. A homeowner would call for a simple lockout, get quoted one thing on the phone, then watch the number climb the moment the technician arrived. Or worse, a family would pay for a new deadbolt and have it fail within weeks, then call back and get routed to someone who had no record of the job.

The final straw came when a homeowner across town showed Sam a receipt from another company. She had paid for work that never should have been done at all. She was embarrassed, confused, and out real money. Sam looked at that receipt and made a decision: locksmith work should be honest, priced upfront, and guaranteed in writing. That afternoon he began laying out what would become Loxley Locksmith & Security. The promise was simple: say the price before the work, show up when you said you would, and put the guarantee on paper. Nineteen years later, that promise still rides with every location carrying our name.

Sam Rourke’s Personal Connection to the Locksmith Trade

Sam Rourke did not grow up dreaming about locks. He fell into the trade the way a lot of people fall into something that turns out to be the thing they were supposed to do all along. He was young, working a job that paid the bills but meant nothing, when a locksmith came to fix a jammed deadbolt at the building where he worked. Sam stood there watching the man work, fascinated by the small parts laid out on a cloth, the steady hands, the way the mechanism finally turned smooth and clean.

The tradesman saw him watching and let him hold the cylinder. Sam turned the key and felt the pins click into place. That click was the moment. He asked questions. The man answered. Within a week, Sam had started learning the craft, and within a few years he had worked his way through residential locks, commercial hardware, and early access control systems. He has spent more than a decade since then on his knees in front of doors in Los Angeles, wiping graphite off his hands, rekeying locks after breakups and home purchases, installing deadbolts for new parents who suddenly noticed how thin their doors were.

What keeps him in the trade is personal, not professional. Every job carries a small moment of relief when the key turns and the door opens. A customer locked out at night is scared. A customer who just bought a house is nervous about who else might have a key. A customer who just had a break-in is rebuilding trust in their own walls. Sam has been present for all of those moments and never once found them small. If he were not doing this, he would probably be teaching it, passing the mechanics and the ethic to the next generation. He still has the first key he ever cut by hand. It does not fit anything anymore. He keeps it because it reminds him that precision matters, and that people trust you with the way into their lives.

Meet Sam Rourke - The Person Behind Every Job

Sam Rourke is the Owner and Founder of Loxley Locksmith & Security. He has spent more than a decade in the locksmith trade, working residential and commercial hardware, rekeys, lockouts, and access control. He is state-licensed and carries the insurance and bonding that every state we serve requires of the pros working under our name.

What separates Sam from the technician you might get from a large chain is simple: he treats every door like it belongs to someone he knows. He is the kind of person who will tell you honestly when a repair is not worth the money and a replacement is the smarter call. Away from the work, Sam is a runner, not fast, but consistent, and he thinks through most of his best ideas on early morning routes through city streets before the traffic wakes up. His commitment to customers is straightforward: if we put our name on the work, we stand behind it in writing, and if something fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and make it right.

Our Promise to Homeowners

The Kingswell Guarantee is the spine of everything we do. It is not a slogan. It has four parts, and each one came from something we saw go wrong before we ever opened our doors. First, you get a written price before any work starts. Not a rough guess, not a starting price that grows, a written number. Second, you get a real arrival window, and we work hard to show up inside it. Third, we leave the job site cleaner than we found it. Fourth, the guarantee itself is printed on your invoice, not hidden in fine print.

Each of our locations is independently owned and operated, but every single one agreed to work to that same standard. That is the deal. If a repair fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and fix it at no charge. We do not make you call three times to get that honored.

Our Credentials

  • State-licensed: every pro working under the Loxley Locksmith & Security name is required to hold the locksmith license their state requires.
  • Insured and bonded: coverage is required for every location and every technician before they touch a customer’s door.
  • More than a decade of trade experience: Sam Rourke has worked residential locksmithing, commercial hardware, and access control since before the company was founded.
  • Strong local reputation: our locations are built on repeat work and word-of-mouth referrals from homeowners who got the price they were promised and a lock that held.

Here is why those matter when you are deciding who to let into your home. A license means the person at your door has met the baseline standard your state sets for the trade. Insurance and bonding mean that if something is damaged on the job, there is a process to make it right. Experience means the technician has seen your specific problem before and knows the honest fix, not just the quick one. A reputation built on repeat work means the company has been back to the same homes year after year and done right by those people every time. That is the bar, and we keep it for every location that carries our name.

Rooted in the Communities We Serve

Loxley Locksmith & Security was founded in Los Angeles, and that is where the story started. But we have never been a one-city company. Our locations serve homeowners across the regions where we operate, from the San Francisco Bay Area to Sacramento, from San Diego to the Inland Empire, and east to Miami and the major metro areas of Florida. Each location is an independent local business that agreed to work to the Kingswell Guarantee. We do not pretend to be from every town. The local team nearest you knows your streets, your building stock, and the specific ways your doors fail in your climate, because they live there and work there every day.
