This is a trade job. You show up at someone’s door, you figure out what’s wrong, you fix it, and you tell them the price before you touch anything. That’s the whole thing. No upselling. No mystery charges that appear on the invoice. No cutting corners on a repair because the next call is waiting. At Loxley Locksmith & Security, every job runs on the same set of rules whether it’s a house lockout at noon or a commercial access control install that takes two days. We’ve been doing it this way since 2007, and the reason it works is the people who actually do the work.

If you’re the kind of person who takes pride in a clean job site, can talk to a homeowner at eye level, and doesn’t mind using your hands for a living – we’d like to meet you.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Residential Locksmith Technician: Someone who can handle everything from a standard rekey to a high-security deadbolt swap, and who knows that a family’s front door is not the place to rush.
  • Commercial Locksmith Technician: A technician who’s comfortable in a business or facilities environment, reading door hardware specs, working with building managers, and finishing a job that other people are counting on.
  • Access Control Installer: A person with a steady hand for low-voltage wiring, a good eye for conduit runs, and the patience to commission a panel correctly the first time.
  • Apprentice Locksmith: Someone who wants to learn the trade from the ground up – curious, punctual, and not afraid of the fact that it takes real time to become genuinely good at this.
  • Dispatcher / Call Coordinator: A clear communicator who stays calm when three things happen at once, can read a schedule under pressure, and understands that the person on the other end of the call is often having a bad day.
  • Customer Service Representative: Someone who answers a phone like a real person, knows enough about lock hardware to have an honest first conversation, and can walk a customer from worried to scheduled without making it feel like a script.

What We Offer

Real Training and a Clear Path Forward

We stock and work with hardware from Schlage, Kwikset, Medeco, Yale, Baldwin, Mul-T-Lock, Sargent, and Abloy. That’s not a marketing list – it’s what our technicians are expected to know, and we’ll show you how. Apprentices ride with experienced techs, handle real jobs with real guidance, and move toward lead work on a schedule that reflects their actual skill, not just how long they’ve been around.

Work You Can Stand Behind

Every job we dispatch carries a written price before any work begins and a written guarantee on the repair itself – backed by our 365-Day Done Right Promise. When you work here, the standard is built into the job. You’re not being asked to oversell or underdeliver. You fix it right, you document it, and if it fails inside the guarantee period, we come back and make it right at no charge. That’s not a promotion. It’s how we operate.

Local Crew, National Backing

Each Loxley location is independently owned and operated. You’re working with a tight local team, not a call center staffed by people who’ve never seen a mortise lock. At the same time, you’re backed by the Kingswell family’s standards, supplier relationships, and a brand that’s been in residential and commercial locksmithing since 2007. You get the feel of a small operation with the support of something bigger.

Steady, Year-Round Demand

Locks don’t stop failing because the economy slows down. Businesses don’t pause access control upgrades because it’s a slow quarter. Lockouts happen on Sundays. The work is consistent because the need is consistent – and because we answer every call with a live person, around the clock, we don’t miss the jobs that other shops let go to voicemail.

No Experience? Read This.

If you’ve spent time doing auto repair, cabinet or door installation, electrical rough-in, HVAC service, or any work that puts you on job sites and in people’s homes, more transfers than you’d expect. You already know how to read a space, work with your hands under time pressure, and talk to a customer when things get complicated.

What we teach is the lock side: cylinder mechanics, key cutting, door hardware, and increasingly, the low-voltage and software side of access control systems. The first months are structured around riding with experienced technicians on real calls. You won’t be sent to a job alone until you’re ready, and we’ll tell you honestly when that is. The trade has a language of its own – keyways, bitting, cam configurations, strike plates – and we’d rather take the time to teach it properly than cut corners to get another van on the road.

If you’re good with your hands, reliable, and willing to learn, the experience question is mostly just a starting point.

How to Apply

Call us at (682) 281-8985 or use the application form below. Let us know where you’re based, what kind of work you’ve done with your hands (locksmith, trades, service work – all of it counts), and when you’d be available to start. Hiring happens locally, through the Loxley location nearest you. A real person picks up, and that’s who you’ll be talking to about next steps.
